Welcome to this site which has for it's objective a modest aim; to change the world. Here is why. Our legal system is dysfunctional. But first, a primer. When Alexander The Great set off to the Orient he hoped that all that was good about Greek culture would radiate and conquer. Unfortunately, he had underrated the resistance and inertia of the Oriental mind and the mass and depth of Oriental Culture. Likewise, when I became a member of the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors in 2003, I underestimated the resistance and inertia of the bureaucracy of the Bar and I was not tuned into the mass and depth of the oligarchy of the Bar. It was my youthful fancy to suppose that I could change things there. Like Asia was to Alexander, the dull quantity of the Bar proved to much for me. In the hour of Alexander's triumph he succumed to drink and divinity. I hope to escape that fate.
The Greek population was composed of Stoics and Epicureans. In other words, the population was apathetic and too comfortable with their material place in society to complain. This is the present challenge. Please join me in this modest effort to change the world. One must start somewhere. LP
